As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to take this opportunity to remind you that our teachers are AWESOME!
Starting next year in first grade, District 2 will begin providing students daily Spanish instruction through its new Foreign Language in Elementary Schools (FLES) program. Learn more on May 15 at our Spanish FLES Program Parent Information Night.
Before completing their careers at their respective schools, these students were selected by their principals from among their grade-level peers to attend the DuPage Chapter of the Illinois Principals Association Student Recognition Breakfast.
Under the District’s new “first-day exclusion” policy, students whose health exam and immunization records are NOT up-to-date and on file at their schools will NOT be allowed to start the new school year on August 20.
Right at School, which operates the after-school programming for our elementary schools, will also offer a parent-paid child care option throughout the summer. The option will be housed at Tioga School and run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
On January 10, we informed the BSD2 community that District 2 was one of many school districts across the country impacted by a December 28, 2024, data breach of the PowerSchool Student Information System. The program will ultimately provide the District’s elementary students the opportunity to leave BSD2 schools in eighth grade ready for advanced Spanish classes and the potential to obtain the Biliteracy Seal in high school.
