Misconduct by Students with Disabilities

The Explanation of Procedural Safeguards details the discipline guidelines for students with disabilities.

  1. A student with a disability may be subject to exclusionary discipline for behavior which is not a manifestation of his or her disability.

  2. If a student with a disability carries a weapon to school or a school function or knowingly possesses, uses, sells or solicits the sale of a controlled substance while at school or a school function, the student may be placed in an appropriate interim alternative educational setting for up to 45 calendar days.
